Dieffenbachia care (dumb cane) and why dieffenbachia leaves are turning yellow ?

Dieffenbachia is very attractive and Air purify plant come with many species and designs but their care are same. Dieffenbachia also know as dumb cane from Araceae family. Dieffenbachia is mostly growing as indoor houseplant because this plant grow in completely shady area. 
 Dieffenbachia is a toxicity plant keep it out of children and pets.

Soil
           Dieffenbachia grow fast in well drain soil and that keep moist for long time.You need garden soil ( 60%),sand(10%),cocopeat(20%) and compost(10%). 

Watering
                  Dieffenbachia need regular watering to keep soil moist always for fast growth. Water it when soil top surface dry out completely. In winter dieffenbachia stop their growth so don't overwater it and make sure top surface dry out 1 to 2 inch down for next water.

Sunlight
                   Dieffenbachia is a shade loving plant, direct sunlight burn their leaves can't survive.  If you place it half day or 2 to 3hours direct sunlight it's leaves get start faded or yellow.Dieffenbachia is a completely indoor plant grow well in bright to medium light. If you place it in room without window so you need to provide it artificial light or place it in bright light for one week in a month. 

Fertilize 
                 Start fertilize your dieffenbachia plant in spring  because dieffenbachia start growth in spring to summer end. Fertilize it 2 time a month in growing season and in winter don't need fertilize because dieffenbachia stop their growth in this time.
         You can fertilize vermi compost or leaf mold 2 time in a month that is enough for dieffenbachia. You can also use  N. P. K (20-20-20)   twice a month in growing season, this N. P. K you can also spray on your plants. 

Humidity
                  Dieffenbachia grow fast in high humidity level so you need to mist water on it  2 to 3 time in week, if you have big collection of Indoor plant so you can provide them humidifier for fast growth.
 
Temperature 
                          Dieffenbachia grow properly in 17 to 27°C temperature range. This plant can't survive in low temperature. 

Size
         Dieffenbachia can grow up to 10 feet long in height. There is a picture on wikipedia of 47 year old 9.75 feet long dieffenbachia plant.
Pruning
                 When dieffenbachia get too long and weird shape then you can cut it from bottom 6 to 8 inch with knife or cutter then it's start new growth from nodes. Pruning your dieffenbachia plant in spring to summer this is growing season don't prune in winters if you prune it in winter then your plant get in stress or die. After pruning you must clean hands and knife because there is deadly poison in their sap. 
 
Propagation
                          Dieffenbachia mostly propagate from pups divide or stem cutting both way are very easy. If you propagating from cutting then you need stem  with 3 to 4 nodes and place their one node in soil and keep it moist, don't overwater it. Rooting and shooting start in 3 to 4 weeks. Why dieffenbachia (dumb cane) leaves turning yellow ? 
 
            There are many reasons of dieffenbachia leaves turning yellow but one is most common is overwatering, when overwatering your plant their roots start rots and plant get in stress and leaves are turning yellow. 
             If you place your dieffenbachia in direct sunlight or too hot climate and low humidity level then their leaves start burn and turning yellow and Brown. Over fertilize also burn their leaves and leaves get yellowing so fertilize your plant twice in a month growing season. 
              In winters it's common dieffenbachia leaves turning yellow cause of low temperature.
