Staghorn Fern Care And How to Mount Staghorn fern into board?

Staghorn Fern's scientific name is Platycerium and also know as Elkhorn fern. Staghorn fern is native to temperate and tropical areas of South America,Africa, Australia and New Guinea etc. Staghorn fern is a species in Polypodiaceae family and genus is epiphytic and  horn shaped fronds. Staghorn fern have two types of fronds 
       Basal fronds and Fertile fronds, Basal fronds are kidney shaped , sterile. Fertile fronds are dichotomous or antler shaped and hang from the rhizome. 

Staghorn fern care 

Soil 
           Staghorn fern need well drain potting mix and store moisture for long time. Make  potting mix of peat moss or cocopeat and Shredded bark. If you mount on board for wall or hanging in basket then you need Sphagnum moss and pine Shredded bark.

Watering
                   Staghorn fern watering regular in summer Its like always moisture in  potting mix for roots. Watering when  it's top surface feel dry. Mounted staghorn fern watering with spray pump on basal fronds and on roots from backside of board's hole and one easy way take it to bathroom and shower on it.Don't overwatering your staghorn fern that is root rot and damage your plant.Sign of overwatering is there are black spots on basal fronds then control watering to save you plant. Sunlight
                 Staghorn fern love bright indirect sunlight or filtered direct sunlight. Full day direct sunlight burn their fronds, if you growing it outoor so you need to provide it green net or place it in shady area. Growing indoor  as mounted into board on room wall then you need a window with bright sunlight or provide it spectrum light lamp.

Humidity
                    Staghorn fern need high humidity level 60% to 80% or mist on fronds 2 to 3 time in week.There are HUMIDIFIER online store and market that is best for mounted staghorn fern in room.

Fertizer 
               You can fertilize fern in summer and spring season. You can use N.P.K liquid fertilizer or use special fern fertilizer spikes. Temperature
                        Temperature range for staghorn fern growth is 32° to 18°C and below 10° can survive for long time. 
Size
            Staghorn fern can grow 2 to 3.3 feets and it can grow more than 3.3 feet at their native tropical area. 

Propagation
